About the authors
Born and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio, Gary Caruso graduated from Marietta (Ohio) College, which is the subject of his book that was released in the spring of 2012 by The History Press. "Marietta College Baseball: The Story of The 'Etta Express" is about the now two-time defending - and record six-time - NCAA Division III Baseball Champions. It is filled with compelling human interest stories about the individuals that make this one of the most-successful college baseball programs in the nation. The book came out before Marietta won its second straight national championship in May 2012.
Caruso is best known for his work pertaining to the Atlanta Braves franchise which includes the three other books featured here. A career-long sports journalist, he conceived the Warren Spahn Statue that stands outside Turner Field in Atlanta, raised all the funds for it, and gave the main dedication speech in 2003. He later delivered the eulogy for Spahn, the winningest lefthander in history, and also gave the eulogy for Lou Burdette, another great Braves pitcher that was MVP of the 1957 World Series victory over the Yankees.
Additionally, Caruso designed and scripted the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium mural that's on permanent display at Turner Field. He now lives in San Diego.

Version I purchased is copyrighted 1995 but no World Series info unfortunately. That certainly would've been a treat.
Nice gift. Totally recommend. Lots of information!
A heads up for anyone wanting more modern info though. It stops before Chipper Jones & everything else that happened in the 90s.
