Top reviews from the United States

Released yearly since the late 40's, this series attempts to include every film released on a year to year basis. John Willis does it again, as the information included in this series is vital to those who love movies, and is also usable to answer a question about a certain film, performer, even who did the music for the film!
Included are hundreds of pictures, and sections that include academy award winners, and who is up and coming, and a list of the year's biggest moneymakers ('Spider-Man' was #1).
An essential part of any film lover's library!

Volume 54 and still going strong! May not be as admired and desired as it was in the old days when we waited a whole year (it seemed like forever) to get our hands on the next Daniel Blum, then the John Willis editions as SCREEN WORLD was about the only annual of its type, except for F, Maurice Speed's British Film Review, to get the years releases neatly referenced. The excitement of buying my first Screen World in a Melbourne technical bookshop in 1966 for a hefty sum from one of my first pay packets! Since then I have collected another 56. Still holds a valued place on my library shelf (actually two shelves!) for fascinating information and quick accurate reference.

1.0 out of 5 stars Review of disappointing Volume 54

For some reason they published this volume in a different size from previous volumes (9.5 inches x 6.5 inches) vs the usual 9.5 inches x 7.75 inches) which makes the volume thicker, but the paper stock used was flat as opposed to the usual nice glossy.
Print was also smaller. They must have smartened up because the following year's volume was back to the usual good standard (glossy paper, larger page size).
