This book is really fabulous, presenting a useful overall plan for the novel, and providing many activities to use throughout the unit. I used to within the unit I had to create for my GATE certificate, so I had to modify the activities in order to differentiate the instruction. This was easily accomplished given the high quality of the book and many activities presented. Some of the concepts were difficult for my sixth grade English Language Learners. I found it more useful when I did teach in a gifted and talented environment, as I was able to explore more of the activities in a greater depth. I wouldn't teach "The Cay" without this book!!
