Tricks to Freak Out Your Friends Paperback – September 1, 2007
by
Pete Firman
(Author)
With 50 rude, sick, and mind-blowing stunts, any practical joker or novice magician will be armed with an arsenal of fresh, fun, and easy pranks to play on friends and loved ones. Each trick is fully outlined with thorough directions and colorful, step-by-step photographs and needs minimal preparation—no top hats, capes, or trap doors are required. Jokers will be able to resurrect dead flies, snuff out lit cigarettes on their tongues, swallow table knives, bend spoons with their noses, cut off their thumbs with scissors, and make messages appear on their skin, all to the wonder and amusement of onlookers. Simple yet impressive card tricks are also included for the "prestidigitally challenged."

Just the cover art was enough to bring the sale home for me. I bought this for my 10 year old son, but it has made the rounds to everyone in the family. Hours of disgusting and harmless humor. We used it as a party book, where everyone had to choose and perfect a trick. Cool, very cool.

I really like the book, has great magic ideas and performance tips. I can't wait to finish reading it. The Goldfish trick is totally believable!

Very Happy

I love Pete Firman and have seen him live. I wanted to get his book to see if I could do any of the tricks at home. Very quick delivery and had very clear descriptions and pictures in order for you to be able to do the trick at home.

good classics but some preperation needed
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 26, 2008
The book its self is well written with fairly good diagrams. It makes easy reading and each trick is easy to follow and pick up BUT....most of the tricks need a certain amount of preperation. Not a lot, but such items as a frozen fly, a sculpted carrot or a pre bended spoon are required. The tricks in this book are classics and may entertain your friends , however, i was looking for simple coin tricks, mind tricks and things that didnt need any preperation before hand so that they could be done at a moments notice.

Great for children's magic.

Recommended - it's a good book for magic-obsessed children but maybe a bit basic for adults. Wish there weren't so many cigarette centred trick though...
