This is a good cook book for a couple of reasons. It gives alternate ways to prepare dishes based on other health issues that one might have, such as those watching sodium intake or fat intake or limiting their carbs.

The reason the author put the nutritional values at the back of the book was so that those that need to restrict sodium, carbs or iron etc can go to the back of the book and look down the list for the recipes with the lowest sodium/iron/carb count and easily find them.

Was not as helpful as I expected. Not a great variety of recipes and too many variables as far as monitoring sugar, cholesterol, etc. I kept the cookbook but was not particularly impressed.

As an owner of many cookbooks this was a nice find for me. As a newly diagnosed diabetic, it has a lot of great recipes that I'm sure I will add to my recipe rotation for myself and for my family! This was a keeper though I'm not sure I would buy it new.

written by a dietician who has type 2 diabetes and likes to be thorough(and has a scientific bent). analyzes each recipe for its glycemic index and gives a breakdown of the nutritional value of each recipe.

Better than many of the books the American Diabetes Association endorses. They seem to think diabetics can eat pasta.

This is an excellent book with tasty recipes. I would've given it 5 stars- but it is the SAME book as the one I already have, just under a new name. Super unprofessional! They could've at least said it somewhere instead of wasting my time and money! Not happy about this fact.

This is the greatest cookbook I have ever had. No diabetes in the family but such healthy recipes . And fast and simple as well .
