The Baxters is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Roma Downey and Ted McGinley.

A story of unspeakable loss and the overwhelming miracle of new life from Karen Kingsbury, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of “heart-tugging and emotional” (Romantic Times) life-changing fiction, co-authored with Gary Smalley.

A Terrible Tragedy
Brooke and Peter are struggling in their marriage when they are faced with the single worst moment ever. What was supposed to be a pool party for their two daughters and a handful of children ends in disaster. As three-year-old Hayley fights for her life, the Baxter family draws together, not even sure how to pray.

A Shattered Life
Peter is devastated by Hayley’s accident. Unable to see past his own guilt, he distances himself from Brooke and their girls and finds other ways to ease his pain. Illegal ways. Peter’s choices send him spiraling into a cavernous abyss that threatens to destroy not only his relationship with Brooke but also his life.

A Reason to Rejoice
Against the backdrop of great pain and loss, a Baxter wedding takes place in New York City, a wedding that gives all of them a reason to smile again. Now, what will it take for Brooke and Peter and the rest of the Baxters to move past their pain to a place of healing and redemption?

This fourth book in the bestselling Christian fiction series about the Baxter family focuses on Brooke Baxter, who has everything this world has to offer―a prestigious career, a beautiful home, and two wonderful children. Her recent return to her faith is an encouragement to her family. But if she faces tremendous loss, can her fledgling faith and her rocky marriage survive?

Rejoice (A Redemption Book Series)
I am very much enjoying this fictional book series by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley. It is about a pretty typical American family, who are also sold out to God. The twists and turns of their lives and those of their children and grandchildren provides lessons for many areas of our own lives as well. I have loved Gary Smalley and his ministry for many, many years and have more recently come across Karen Kingsbury as an author. What a delightful combination. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have.

Another fantastic book from an extremely prolific author. It's also another story in the Baxter family series. The characters are friends who you probably already know. If not, you're in for a treat. Happy reading.

This book showed so much tragedy and how to deal with it with Gods word. Had the scripture references not been there, and God talking them thru the hard times, I'm not sure I could've finished it. It reminded me that if you have Jesus in your heart, he will never leave you, even if you try to turn your back to him. Karen Kingsbury is an awesome writer and her love for God is very present in her stories. Thank you Karen, for making me want my relationships to be centered around Gods teachings and love.

While I haven't read THIS book yet, I can say that I am so into the Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley collections in general. These books follow the Baxter family and the celebrations and trials they go through, including their relationships with God. I can relate to these characters as easily as relating to my own family members. In fact, while I was reading about especially sad event that Kari was going through, I was crying hard enough that I had to put the book down because I could no longer see well enough to read. My husband happened to walk through the room at that moment and stopped in his tracks and his expression went from relaxed to caring concern as he noticed my tears. He was relieved to know it was only the book making me cry. The characters are THAT real for me. My mother is reading the same series, so we talk about the Baxters all the time as if they are a real family that we know and care about and visit on a regular basis.

The only other thing I can say about these book is the most important: Reading these books is impacting and improving my own relationship with God. I feel closer to Christ and I find that my faith is strengthened by reading about this family. These books have helped me make sense of my own trials and to answer the questions I've had in my own life. Watching them struggle to make sense of difficult events and to question God themselves and then find that the only answer is God, has given me a peace that I can only attribute to reading the Truths these books celebrate. I thank God for the gift God has given to Karen Kingsbury, to write in such a way that touches your mind, heart and spirit.

I have recommended the series to many many people in person and it is my pleasure to recommend these books here online.

Okay, picture this - one Saturday afternoon I was travelling down to London to meet with some old school friends. I was reading the last book in the series `Reunion' before I knew it I was in floods of tears. Mascara running, scrambling for a tissue, giving a reassuring `sanity' look to the elderly women looking concerned opposite me. Within minutes though, I was once again smiling at the beauty of these incredible books. Karen Kingsbury has an unbelievable talent, we all know that. Right? Well, it's once again been bought into the spotlight within the `Redemption' series. This series takes us through the trials and tribulations of the Baxter family. I've never known an author being able to bring so many emotions to a novel as Karen Kingsbury. What I love most about this series is the heart rendering yet joyful journey you participate in reading these books. It's weird, it's almost like you get to know the characters. She has an amazing gift of bringing a reader into her stories. I can only pray she never stops writing. Karen Kingsbury's books are filled with the unshakeable, remarkable, miraculous fact that God's grace is greater than our suffering. There are no words for her writing. I can honestly say I've never read anything as uplifting and entertaining. When Karen Kingsbury calls her books `'Life changing fiction'' she's merely telling the unvarnished truth. I'm being deadly serious, this series is incredible. I was offered £25 one time in the airport for the third book in the Redemption series. T I just want to thank Karen with what she is doing with the power of her story telling - touching hearts like mine and letting God use her to change lives.
