The book has came in a very good condition. If you are the person who loves to carry your bible all around. You shall have one. The big bible is too heavy and use too much space in my bag, so they are in my house for home use now.

First I'll say the font size is yet a bit too small for my eyes, affected as they are by inflammation due to autoimmune disease. But this is not the fault of the publishers, so I certainly don't hold it against them. I CAN see to read, but my eyes get tired after 30 minutes or so.

This is a really beautiful Bible. The typeface is clear, and since there is nothing in the center margin and no references (other than a few inconspicuous ones at the bottom of the pages), it's uncluttered looking. I think that would be important for most of us with deteriorating vision.

The pages are actually pretty thick, for onion leaf type pages, and they're r-e-a-l-l-y white. The ink is dark enough against the white pages to be very well seen. There may be ghosting when holding a page apart from the rest, but honestly, I don't see any when reading normally.

The overall effect is quite nice. The clear Word of God, plain and beautiful. The ESV is a nice translation I've come to late in life, having always read the NASB for pleasure, and I'm enjoying it's simplicity.

I read all the reviews, and took the negatives into consideration. Then I remembered Amazon's excellent return policy and chose to try it. I'm SO glad I did. Although it's hard to read for long periods (and that's just me), this is a definite keeper.

As I get older, I find it harder to read most Bibles in less than ideal lighting because of the small print. This version has four important things I was looking for: ESV version, large print, Jesus words in red and personal size. I usually get a leather cover, but I didn’t this time, but it’s still a nice cover. So far, I really like it.

This is a perfect size for a compact bible in my opinion, however, I wished that the font size can be improved at least one size higher. Initially i thought I will have to return this because I find my eyes easily get tired because of the small font, but thankfully I switched between eyeglasses and that made it all much better. So I would say that for its size, and the size 6 font, it is readable and acceptable. I still would recommend though that it can be improved with having either a 6.5 or 7 font size. The pages of this bible is much better than the value compact version. I find myself reaching out for this more often, I like the softness of the leather and the overall buttery feel when I hold this in my hands.

個人的な体験ですが、KIJと比べると辞書を引く頻度も少ないです。
しかしながら、ESVで置き換えられた単語によって、KIJとの間に
異なったニュアンスが生じているのではないかと思われる箇所も
あります。
英語学習の観点から見れば、
ESVを経てKIJという流れが消化不良を起こしずらくて良いのかなと感じました。

この聖書のサイズも持ち運びにはそこまで苦労しないのではないかと思います。
文字は約1.5mm〜2.0mmで書かれています。 間隔も良く取られていると思います。

This book has a format of two columns on each page which I think most bible readers will be used to. Binding and printing are to a good standard. The book size has been criticised elsewhere but it is a standard USA size which I find very comfortable to handle. Most importantly the paper used in this edition is not the thinnest and so the pages do not drag downwards as is the case of many large books. To give a practical example when I held the bible open at John the left hand side of the book moved downwards only a little. Those of us who hand hold the book to read will appreciate just how good that is! As a comparison I have the CEV version and the pages are much thinner and are very prone to slip. So it is a very nice book to read at the practical level. Footnotes and other essential cross references are kept to small print at the bottom of the page so that they do not interfere with continuous reading. I find this a very good translation although to enlarge on meanings I refer to other versions on occasion and it might be dishonest not to admit that. On the whole though it is a good reading version, but I am still not sure that it is 'better' than the Revised English, which I consider is still very undervalued. Nevertheless it is still my 'pick' of the large print bibles of which there are not that many really. One final note is that the text is clear and large of course but the font has 'tall upright character' which I am now settling down to but which I had not seen before. The easy to read properties of this bible are probably going to make it my favourite book.
