Purchase options and add-ons
Kagome is an ordinary modern schoolgirl living an ordinary life. Who would have thought the dried-up old well on the site of her family's shrine would be a gateway to Japan's ancient past? Drawn through the gate against her will, Kagome finds herself battling demons for control of what she thought was a worthless trinket but is actually a powerful magical gem, the Shikon Jewel! Together with an unlikely ally, the half demon Inuyasha, Kagome begins a quest to recover the shards of the Shikon Jewel and learn more about her link to the past.
The scheming demon Naraku has turned Sango against Inuyasha, and opening her eyes to the real danger won't be easy. Meanwhile, Miroku has to wrestle with his past and the curse that is threatening to kill him. Naraku's insight into his enemies' personalities gives him an edge that they don't have. As Naraku pulls the strands of his web of deceit tighter, Inuyasha and his friends find themselves having to avoid his deadly traps while struggling with their own emotions as well!

She won the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award twice in her career, once for Urusei Yatsura in 1981 and the second time for Inuyasha in 2002. A majority of the Takahashi canon has been adapted into other media such as anime, live-action TV series, and film. Takahashi’s manga, as well as the other formats her work has been adapted into, have continued to delight generations of fans around the world. About the author
The spotlight on Rumiko Takahashi's career began in 1978 when she won an honorable mention in Shogakukan's annual New Comic Artist Contest for Those Selfish Aliens. Later that same year, her boy-meets-alien comedy series, Urusei Yatsura, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. This phenomenally successful manga series was adapted into anime format and spawned a TV series and half a dozen theatrical-release movies, all incredibly popular in their own right. Takahashi followed up the success of her debut series with one blockbuster hit after another--Maison Ikkoku ran from 1980 to 1987, Ranma 1/2 from 1987 to 1996, and Inuyasha from 1996 to 2008. Other notable works include Mermaid Saga, Rumic Theater, and One-Pound Gospel.

This one covers Volumes 10 through 12 of the manga and continues the story of Inuyasha's and Kagome's quest for the missing shards of the Shikon Jewel. It is basically a collector's book and, as mentioned, renders the drawing panels in their "as drawn" configuration. Now you can read the manga as is was originally written, except translated into English. As a collection of three volumes, it has its own "original" cover, taken from some of the authors drawings. The original three book covers are reproduced at the end of the book and a couple of extra drawings are thrown in, as well, in that section.
This book is built to last a lot longer than the original comics Viz published. So it will make a nice addition to, or replacement for. anyone's collection. It's also a good volume for anyone who ever wanted to collect this manga.
The best part is that the remastered drawings are much clearer and cleaner than the original published manga volumes. Anyone who has read them will probably notice details they never saw before.
