I bought this book cause my wife Darlene left me fo the preachers wifes sister. I was so depressed just sitting here in the the doublewide by myself. I wanted soimeone to replace the love and caring I had lost, so first I tried to teach the dog to fetch beer from the fridge. After several months it became apparent that he was stealing pickled pig feet at night whilst I was sleeping but refused to get me a beer while I watched Wrastling. This book has changed my life I never leave my chair now. Everything I want comes to me through sheer psychotic power. I would post a video but my cousin Bubba dropped my phone in the toilet and now it doesnt work, but thats okay cause when I need him he shows up after calling him with my mind. So do yourself a favor and put this book to work for you. One day you could be as good as me. Hell I can even have the can open itself!

This book was written at the dawn of 19th century, so some of the information provided here seem to be outdated, but still for the beginner it is a treat, it give them clear perspective about what Clairvoyance is, what are the different levels and methods of achieving it.

This book was written in the 1800s.. It is very interesting.. We are not talking about occult ceremonies.. We are dealing with everyday senses as underdeveloped senses.. The author does have a peculiar and wandering way of explaining ideas.. But his penmanship is consistence throughout the book and once you get used to the way he writes, you might find a certain charm to it. The material is covered in such a way, that you will say.. I know this!!!. But I just never had a way to formally express what I knew to be true. My approach to reading this book, is a chapter a night. The chapter are 3-5 pages.. I find this method worked for me.. The material is interesting.. but a little dry.. Take it in small doses..

Interesting writing research with some surprising nuggets of truth

"This reads like stereo instructions." I couldn't help but keep hearing this Beetlejuice quote in my head as I read Clairvoyance and Occult Powers. This is one of several books I'm reading for research and for my purposes, it served quite a few purposes. That said, the tone of the book is often pompous and condescending, which works perfectly for what I needed. The curious thing is that there are actually quite a few great bits of life advice within all the spooky occultism, which was not something I expected, and goes to show you can find good advice any and everywhere. As is, there are many things that make sense though the book shifts between explaining well and being vague to the point of being annoying, all depending on the subject matter. A LOT of things are referred to as "obvious" and "logical" and it puts people who research the occult and practice occultism above the rest of us mere mortals. Still, even with all of that, there are still things that actually resonated and if you're researching morally gray characters or want to have a villain who actually has some proper righteous motivations, there's a lot to see here.

I have yet to properly finish this book because it is such an immersive read. This book should be treated like a textbook/guide. I always return to different chapters to strengthen myself in that corresponding area. I don't know if I do believe in some of the practices it teaches but it's still a thought provoking read and is a great stop on one's journey to his/her spiritual path.
