I was born in 1934 and raised in Connecticut. After getting an engineering degree at Dartmouth College I spent four years in the Army Counterintelligence Corps. After being a Special Agent in Germany, I spent over a year travelling overland to India and then further into Southeast Asia and Japan.

I became a sales engineer. My company moved me and my family to Belgium to join our international office.

After that I became District Manager of our Milwaukee Office.

My last assignment before retirement was to be a product manager in our factory in Germany.

Retirement became an unpaid full time job concentrating on finding a suitable sailboat to voyage through islands and across oceans.

How I then did that, you can read in my book.

If you are a person who's interested in psychic phenomena and particularly in telekinesis, or mind-over-matter, this book probably won't be for you.

This book seems to be compiled from an article of some sort, and there is no information as to when this book was written but from the tone of the writing, it seems to have been written sometime during the early part of the 20th century; possibly during the 1920's to the 1930's as much of the parent article is about the alledged telekinesis encountered during seances, much of which is fraudulent manipulation by con artist mediums. However the author does believe, and note, that there really has been some instances of true telekinesis.

There are a few things interesting in this book such as the author's look at the effects produced by hypnosis such as levitation and stigmata, but overall there is nothing to really recommend this book to someone who may want to learn and master the art of telekinesis I'm sorry to say. It's too bad that there was no description of this book for me, or anyone to go on before buying this book.

Still, if one wants a look at seances and mediumship, this book is worth a look if only just for that aspect. But it seems nothing has changed since Holt's time: the people who do not believe in teleinesis are the ones who have never seen it done before. Too bad, that.

This book is just not what you're looking for unless you're interested in early twentieth century case studies of apparent telekinesis. It's not leisurely or interesting reading at any level.

This book is in fact an extract from a book by Henry Holt "On the Cosmic Relations Part 1" (ISBN 0766126455), first published in 1914. The style is that of the time and therefore not always easy to read. Further, since this is only an extract, some parts may seem to not really fit, as obviously there are some bits missing.

As far as telekinesis is concerned, this is more of a study on telekinesis to try and determine what the phenomenon is all about. There is no reference on methodology of telekinesis, but there is some indication that it can work. So generally speaking, there are some very interesting details in this text which are worth a read if you're into this subject. However it is fairly limited in its findings.

Telekinesis is something in fact so simple that the authors of this text, in their positivist approach just do not see the whole picture, which is obviously a disappointment to the curious reader. Two stars only are therefore awarded for this book, as it has some interesting details, but fails to deliver.
