There are several types of Dreams that we have, they are:
The Prophetic Dream is one that Happens in an awakened state, exactltly as it occured in the dream state. It generally fortells of a Future Event or Happening.
Symbolic Dreams occur most often and can give needed advice. For instance, if we dream of a Traffic Light, it could be giving us a direction to take, Green, Go ahead, Yellow, Proceed with caution, Red, stop where you are going.
Spiritual Dreams reveal what the Soul is seeking from us.
Superficial Dreams are scattered and make no sense.
Astral Projection: A projection out of the body to another place
Distortion Deams relate to dreams that are not part of a time sequence, and may be related to a Feeling Sequence that is distorted or disguised by the sub-conscious to conceal something.
Condensation Dreams are dreams that have fewer symbols. They are comprssed with several events, people or wishes all condensed into one.
Symbolization Dreams are where one thing stands for another. Symbolizing one thing for something else. Very Often having a meaning for a certain person, place or thing that is personal to the individual. For someone else, the symbol can have a completely different meaning to someone else. These are Individual Personalized Symbols.

You may have to try different words then you originally wrote down to find the meaning that applies to your dream. Generally speaking there is usually a word or phrase in the index close to what you are looking for to help in the interpretation.
I found it amazing how my dreams are a reflection of what is going on in my everyday life and subconscious. It was also very interesting to find out how completely different dreams can have basically the same meanings. A highlight to what is going on or what might be bothering you, or at the very least a highlight into what your subconscious is telling you through your dreams.
I originally bought my book around 1995 and it's held together by scotch tape, but this recent purchase was for my granddaughter. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the meanings of dreams.
Mike Holte
I give presentations and workshops on the meaning of dreams and have shared this book with many people. The feedback related to the book and it`s usefulness has been very positive. I don`t think I would be doing this work without her guidance.
she is spot on with how it relates to human nature, how we think, feel and behave. She explains how to increase your abilities, to bring
about dreams to answer specific questions or events in your life. Everything you need to know is provided. Buy it as you should not be
disappointed.

Through my own research, I was finding that not all dream dictionaries were equal! As an example, in one book I looked at, I read that dreaming of taking a shower meant that you were going to come into money. Lovely thought, but it did not resonate with me as any kind of personal truth as to the meaning of the symbol. This book resonated in that the dreaming of taking a shower symbolised an inner 'cleansing' of some kind. This resonated as much more realistic, as well as, frankly, logical. When I think of taking a shower, I don't think of making money, I think of being clean. See what I mean? That's why I like this book. It's spiritual, but logical.
So, yes, this book is spiritual in nature, but in a very down-to-earth (and non-religious/non-denomination) way. The author encourages that, even when using her book, you think first and foremost what the dream symbol means to you.
I have found it very helpful and my only criticism is that I wish it were thicker! (It's already as thick as a telephone directory - you know, the old ones from 20 years ago, ie, 2 inches thick).
As a complete novice in the old 'dream interpretation' school, this book has been an enormous help to me. A complete revelation.
Further examples: Vehicles = your body. Buildings = your subconscious/psyche. The author details further in what vehicles/buildings etc you are actually dreaming about? Then takes it further into what those vehicles/buildings look like; or what state they are in; or how big/small they are; what colours appear; who is with you in the building or the vehicle? What are they doing? Do you like who you are with/what you are doing? Or not? These are just tiny examples. Once you look up all the symbols in your dreams - people, colours, vehicles, scenery, feelings, weather, even your own clothing and the state of your hair!, etc etc etc, it then becomes obvious (to me anyway, and remember I said that I am a complete novice!) what the dream is about. Remember to add your own intuition when interpreting your dreams and suddenly you have your own personal mirror held up to your face. Pretty amazing stuff, and I never would have believed it.
I could not have started without a good dictionary and this is one. I cannot put it down, and have had a lot of successful interpretations with it and therefore have no hesitation in recommending it.
Happy, insightful dreaming, one and all.
Nobody is trying to predict the future here, nobody knows what is coming regards to money/ relationships/ work etc. And if they are trying I would be wildly skeptical.
All Miss Tanner does is decipher what your subconscious is bringing up and she does it damm well.
