This "large type" NAB-RE replaced an old circa 1970 St. Joseph NAB. The new one is copyrighted 2011 and comes with a "lifetime guarantee" from the Catholic Book Publishing Corp - against manufacturing defects, that is. I don't know what that would mean, but I guess it is nice to have.

It is beautifully detailed with gold leaf pages, burgundy leather covers, and marker ribbon; pictures, illustrations and maps are included in full color, which is a wonderful upgrade feature set. The color illustrations reminded me of the St. Joseph Missal I used long ago. A family section is also included if one chooses to record marriages, names, baptisms and dates of birth, etc. I probably will not use that, but it's also nice to have.

While I cannot comment much on the theological aspects (I don't have time to do an extensive comparison between 2011 and 1970 versions, and I don't get hung up on inclusive language), the pages are just the right opacity (very little bleed through); the text is about 12-point and has excellent contrast and is therefore very easy on the eyes. The fit and feel of the book is simply excellent. In my opinion, the Catholic Book Publishing Corp hit the mark perfectly with this publication.

I am very happy with this purchase and will certainly enjoy the easy readings. Buy it. You will love it.

Very satisfied with this bible. It was used as the seller said. Kudos to the seller for describing the product just as it was.
As for the translation...good. I also use The Ignatius Bible, Revised Standard Version for study, but I like the more modern translation in this Bible when I need some clarity on a particular verse of scripture. It is not the newest revised edition, but I like the translation. As far as I can tell, it was published around 1970.

Bible is of great possible condition as my neighbor had a new one which was wrapped in plastic to keep in good condition and clean. However the one I received from this seller came with a bent cover front and back. The pages were creased as if they had been forcefully bent through. If I didn’t know any better I would say this was a used book. I do not recommend this seller as I know how other sellers deliver good products safely.

This is an excellent Deluxe Gift Edition of a Catholic Bible. Beautifully bound in burgundy bonded leather, gold page edges and a single broad ribbon marker. It uses the NABRE (Revised) version which is one of the best. The NABRE has actually a Study Bible built into it. It offers substantial introduction to each and every book of the Bible in addition of explanatory study notes. The language is also simple but at the same time dignified as befits a Bible.
It arrives in a sturdy cardboard box and the actual Bible is shrink wrapped in plastic.
There are many colorful paintings describing important events narrated in the Bible which help our understanding and recollection and are also very nice to leaf through. We also get more than 70 photographs of various Biblical places, objects, etc. There are 4 color maps at the back and numerous black & white maps spread across the Bible.
All in all, this is an IDEAL edition of a Catholic Bible for daily devotions and study.
I must add a word of appreciation for the promptness of delivery by Amazon Global Store. The order was placed on 18-4-17 and committed date of delivery was 6-5-17. I was very pleasantly surprised when the item was delivered to me on 26-4-17 !! That is what I call Fantastic Service !
