Top review from the United States

Good info just not enough of it. Content was more like a reading a pamphlet than a book. If you are looking for the very simple bascis then this is your book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a comprehensive but brief guide

This is pithy guide that contains all the information for a lay reader getting to grips with saddle fitting for the first time. It is accessible and clear, and covers all the bases. Under its tutelage the reader will be able to form a view as to whether the saddle fits correctly. However it is no substitute for a professional saddle fitting and those skilled in the art may desire more.

3.0 out of 5 stars good overview - not enough detail to enable you to do anything to change the fit
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 9, 2017
This book is a little simple maybe but gives a nice over view of fitting saddles as well as a guide to the actual "anatomy" of saddles. It lacks any detail when fitting saddles in reality as this needs a huge amount of experience and skill but gives a guide as to roughly how it should look on the horse. Doesn't give any detail of how you would change the fit if it didn't fit the horse

I would have liked more pages but it is a useful reference tool for someone wanting to understand the basics of saddle fitting.

5.0 out of 5 stars indispensible guide - every horse owner should have one

This book should be compulsary - it is easy to read and well illustrated and covers the basics of what a badly fitting saddle looks like - and the damage it can do to your horse.
Be warned this may prove a costly purchase - it made my friend go out and buy a new saddle right away!
