Editorial Reviews
Review
"Bill Watterson's 'Calvin and Hobbes,' easily one of the most beloved comic strips of all time..." (Bryan Hood, New York Post)
"A student of comics, Watterson drew from an eclectic set of influences...The result was a strip that was vibrant, accessible, and beautiful." (Jake Rossen, Mental Floss)

So, when his best friend was having a birthday party, this is what he selected to get him. What a great idea!
Gotta love the classics!
The biggest difference I've seen is in my younger son. When I tried reading other books with them at bed time, he'd always wander off or start playing with something else. With Calvin & Hobbes, not only does he stay put (miracle!), but he asks questions about what all the big words mean, and he shocked me the other day when I came across him reading one of these books. Voluntarily. On purpose. With access to plenty of other things to play with.
So yeah, definitely worth buying!
Calvin and Hobbes are timeless. Get ‘em all.

Bill Watterson uses quirky drawings, wit, and a fantastic sense of humour to create argubly the best cartoon ever drawn/written.
This is probably the second best collection of them all, and a great place to start if you're new to the scene.
Just some of the many adventures Calvin and Hobbes have in this book are:
- Calvin finds a magic carpet (The hall rug)
- Calvin and Hobbes face off against arch-rival Susie Derkins in a water fight
- The family go camping, and it rains the whole week.
- Calvin and Hobbes test out Calvin's latest invention, a time machine
- Calvin 'secedes' from the family and attempts to migrate to the Yukon with Hobbes
- Calvin loses Hobbes in the woods
- Rosalyn babysits Calvin again
- Calvin brings Hobbes to school
- Calvin's Uncle Max visits
- Calvin works with Susie on a school project
- Calvin and Hobbes have fun with a transmogrifier gun
The beauty of Calvin and Hobbes is that it can appeal to anyone and everyone, Children, Adults, or O.A.Ps.
Get these books while you can, they are true classics of a great cartoon still printed in national newspapers, including The Daily Express.
