Eclipse
After hearing about the total solar eclipse happening in two months, a boy makes a plan with his father to go see it. They drive to the perfect campsite, not wanting to miss the couple of minutes when the sun will be completely hidden by the moon. When the moment happens, being together makes it even more special.
Based on a trip that author-illustrator Andy Rash took with his son to see the eclipse in August 2017, Eclipse is a heartfelt and playfully illustrated ode to seeking out unique adventures and savoring the most special moments with the people you love. Back matter about eclipses and maps of eclipses' paths across the United States make this book perfect for the STEAM curriculum.
Eclipse is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection!

There is only a sentence or two on each page as the zombies are killed, I couldn't help but chuckle at the clever rhymes, and the kid like art work. I wouldn't recommend buying this for the list price of 9.95$ hardback or even 5.99 Kindle, but if you can grab it on sale it is worth the read. I am sure when my son gets old enough to appreciate zombie humor, (he's my kid, of course he will be as warped as I am) he will enjoy this just as much which will justify my whim purchase.
If you're a really untraditional I think this would make a perfect Valentine's Day gift for your sweetie. I've seen gummy brains and mints shaped like brains that I'd have loved to put with this for my husband but I couldn't hold off that long. I gave it to him on Christmas and he read it out loud to our kids and guests who all thought it was hilarious. My kids then stole it and poured over the pictures laughing like crazy over the ending. It's bloody and a little gruesome but my kids are tweens so you cn make that judgement call for your own children.
It's funny, has plenty of carnage, and has a love story at the end. It's cute and I'm glad I bought it.
