4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 141 ratings

During a character-defi ning run, Brian Michael Bendis crafted a pulp-fi ction narrative that exploited the Man Without Fear's rich tapestry of characters and psychodrama, and resolved them in an incredibly nuanced, modern approach. Now, this Eisner award-winning run is collected across three titanic trade paperbacks! In this volume, the revelations come fast and furious! Who was the Kingpin before the Kingpin? What was his relationship to Matt Murdock? And exactly what happened during Daredevil's year-long reign as the new Kingpin? Plus: Bendis and Maleev's run comes to a blistering conclusion! First, they outed Daredevil in the press, then they married him and made him the Kingpin of Hell's Kitchen. What could they possibly do to top that? Four words: WILSON FISK IS BACK!

The other reviews say everything that needs saying about the story and art.

BUT....

The store notes are wrong.
The actual content includes:
Daredevil 66-81 (the correct 81 unlike what other people reported)
What if Karen Page had lived?
Ultimate Marvel Team-up 6-8. (These are set in the ultimate universe)

I really enjoyed them but I am familiar with ultimate Spidey so I wasn't confused by them. I don't know how they would seem to someone who wasn't.

I also liked the what if.

If you look at the first page it says these are included so I don't think that calling these "bonus" content is accurate. But I WISH that Amazon would fix the description!
:-P
I don't exactly want to complain though.

They usually seem to be wrong by claiming to include content that isn't there.

Simply some of the best DD ever written. This is right up there with Frank Millers work. This is a must read for any DD fan and a good place to start (book 1 obviously) for any new DD readers.

Bendis and Maleev's run on Daredevil was nothing short of spectacular. The amount of consistency and detail that went into this venture, both in visual and character design, is impressive for an ongoing comic serial. Yet, I couldn't help but feel that this "third act" was cut short. Matt Murdock answers for his actions in the most practical way possible. I should have felt more poetry in this than I did, but the abrupt conclusion left me wanting more. So...off to the Brubaker series I went. Taken alone, this volume makes little sense. But in the grand character arc of our modern Man Without Fear, it stands as a triumph for the medium (small complaints aside).

A great use of all the moving part to this series. Definitely an excellent ending that leaves you wanting more. This is definitely a close 2nd to Miller's run on Daredevil. On to Brubaker's run!

One of the best Daredevil runs available. I fully recommend all three volumes for both the artwork and story.

It's a nice chunky edition, but I still wish it could keep going. This is Bendis and at his best. A must read for Daredevil fans

I can't tell you how much this book is awesome. To me, at least. If you like stories about the alter-ego of the superhero (Matt Murdock in this case), you'll like this book. The art and the story match perfectly and, as a huge fan of comic books, this book is, by far, one of my favorites.

If you love Daredevil or want to jump in after watching the show, this book has the same ambiance and it's definitely a good read.

Complicado pra quem quer a coleção completa.
