I've read all of Brian Reed's previous Ms. Marvel run, which I greatly enjoyed. There really isn't much I can say that other reviewers have said before. The series does end on a bit of a positive note, but Reed tries to set up Mystique as here mortal foe, which is a little hard to believe since she hasn't really been in this series.at all. But oh well, if you like the other volumes, you definitely like this one.

Here is where Ms. Marvel happily settles for being "Best she can be" instead of being "Best of the best". It took her nine volumes, in which she almost lost herself, almost died, then really died before being revived in time to finish her run. I think the series lost a large chunk of its impetus along the way, partly because it has not proved easy for Brian Reed to reconcile her solo adventures and her involment in plural variations of the Avengers, not to mention the many crossovers Marvel comics devised in the past 5 years or so. Another drawback was the artists turn-over. This slim volume holds only 4 issues - presumably the last 4? - and is slightly better than the previous one. All in all, an opportunity to make something big has been spoiled.

While I have loved the majority of this series I was not overly thrilled with how the series concluded. They acknowledge Mystique as Carol's true arch enemy only to have very little interaction between the two. The threat at the end was ok, but could have been much better.

I did like that they kept the Noh-Varr feature from issue 50 in the story (but would have preferred the Carol & Noh to interact again).

Still a good read.

Die Zeichnungen sind gut und erlauben sich nur an sehr wenigen Stellen kleine Patzer.
Die Story beginnt mit einem Date zwischen Ms Marvel und Spiderman. Unkostümiert versteht sich. Das Date verläuft wohl nicht ganz so wie man erwarten könnte (in mehreren Hinsichten).
Danach heisst es Ms Marvel jagt Mystique und am Ende trifft man Spidey wieder.

An sich kein schlechter Comic, in dem aber meiner Meinung nach die Kampfszenen viel zu kurz kommen.
