Colorado seems to have its very own Bermuda triangle, with travellers disappearing in the area of a town called dinosaur. After the daughter of a government official goes missing, director Norman Osborn and his avengers team are called in to deal with whatever is going on. Needless to say, wackiness ensues and things get weird.
My favorite part of this volume is the emphasis bendis puts on Victoria hand, osborn's second in command. We see her origin in shield, and how she was punished by fury speaking her mind. She is transferred and her girlfriend leaves her, explaining the resentment she has for fury and the shield he created. The art is still grand, and Ares in particular looks glorious.
This is a great volume, and the price is quite good considering the small page count. It isn't as important to setting up siege as the first volume was, so if you want only the crucial bits you can avoid this collection. Personally I have been digging the dark reign, and dark avengers in particular.

Wasn’t as good as volume 1 but was still enjoyable.

In this book we are introduced to Ares' son, go deeper into the psychological problems of Norman Osborne, and see the team take on Molecule Man. In many respects, the book is a vehicle to draw readers up to the events in Siege....and while I found the artwork excellent, the dynamics of the group (as well as their interaction with each other) great, and found the story interesting, I found the book rather short (and I can't decide if that's from it being a great book or if it's because it's a mere 112 pages....or maybe both?)

Logically, I'm not sure of the need for a Dark Avengers team considering the seemingly god-like powers of Sentry, but the writers do explore his mental instability to demonstrate that he is a very flawed hero that could go disastrously wrong. Considering his powers, I'm also not sure why he's following Osborne. Personally, I think they've made Sentry too powerful and don't know what to do with him now.

I read this on my 7" Kindle HD Fire and had no problems reading it with the panel view.

I recommend this book.

just a great story arc. keeps you interested, yet doesnt get you attached and rooting for the bad guys. its like a pretty little disaster you just cant wait to see crash.

For those who loved the Dark Reign series, this was the ultimate! Bendis is a master comic writer, it really doesn't matter who is the artist. Great read indeed...

I LOVED the first part of Dark Avengers. I loved the dialog, the interaction between the different characters and how they worked (or didn't work) with one another. However, the crisis/villain of that first volume was admittedly lacking. For volume 2, I hoped maybe that would improve. And... not quite.

The novelty of how these characters interact with one another can only last for so long. Part 1 was great because everything was so new and I was willing to look past the less-than-stellar villain. But none of that is new anymore in part 2. And the villain was still not great.

Overall I still really love the Dark Avengers and it is a shame that they were so short-lived in the span of the Marvel universe. I got the later editions and read those and I will say the Dark Avengers story does get better. Vol 2 is definitely the weakest in the run, so don't dispair. It only improves from here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great work, but the Sentry is too OP

The drawings and conversations are great as usual, but with the Sentry in the team, it all Comes down to "survive until Bob solves the problem" what makes the entire series a bit boring, while not lowering the quality of the comic itself though!

This is the second part of the dark avengers story heading into the Seige event, this 2nd installation of dark avengers continues solid artwork with a interloping story that really take another look at your dark avengers and adds more spin to an already heavy story line
