Orson Scott Card is the author of the novels Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, and Speaker for the Dead, which are widely read by adults and younger readers, and are increasingly used in schools. His most recent series, the young adult Pathfinder series (Pathfinder, Ruins, Visitors) and the fantasy Mithermages series (Lost Gate, Gate Thief, Gatefather) are taking readers in new directions.

Besides these and other science fiction novels, Card writes contemporary fantasy (Magic Street, Enchantment, Lost Boys), biblical novels (Stone Tables, Rachel and Leah), the American frontier fantasy series The Tales of Alvin Maker (beginning with Seventh Son), poetry (An Open Book), and many plays and scripts, including his "freshened" Shakespeare scripts for Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, and The Merchant of Venice.

Card was born in Washington and grew up in California, Arizona, and Utah. He served a mission for the LDS Church in Brazil in the early 1970s. Besides his writing, he teaches occasional classes and workshops and directs plays. He frequently teaches writing and literature courses at Southern Virginia University.

Card currently lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his wife, Kristine Allen Card, where his primary activities are writing a review column for the local Rhinoceros Times and feeding birds, squirrels, chipmunks, possums, and raccoons on the patio.

Let's get one thing straight: this story breaks with the Iron Man canon. It's great, but if you're a hard-core purist you'll probably hate it. Other than that, the artwork is well done and the writing is excellent (though I am an unabashed Orson Scott Card fanboy).

It's a bit expensive for what is essentially a single issue of a comic, but it comes in a GORGEOUS hardcover binding that you'll be proud to have on your shelf. Definitely worth buying in my opinion.

great service and shipping, book in fantastic shape. I still have to read it -- it seems to be about Tony Stark's son, or a younger Tony Stark.

You will enjoy this book a WHOLE LOT more if you just realize it's not an Iron Man story and treat it as if it were an entirely new character, called maybe "Neuro-Mutant-Armored-Guy" instead of Iron Man. Card's re-imagining of the Iron Man character is as far from the spirit and intent of the original as it would have been if Bendis had made Flash Thompson the Ultimate Spider Man instead of Peter Parker.

BUT, if you treat this as a story completely unrelated Iron Man, it's actually outstanding. If it were presented as a new hero and not labeled Iron Man I would rate this book 5 stars. It's the fact that it is a non-Iron Man story shoehorned into the Iron Man mythos that brings it down to 3 stars for me.

By comparison, plotting, pace, development are all better done than Ultimate Iron Man, Volume 1, but still a far cry from the much superior Ultimate Spiderman and Ultimate Fantastic Four series.

I have been waiting alon time for this and Orson Scott Card did not dissapoint me.

The conspiracy against howard stark takes an international and deadly turn after Stark Enterprises robot stops a terrorist from blowing up stark towers.

Lots of action well writ characters and twists and turns.

Obadiah Stane is realy annoying, Tony is fool hardy and heroic, James rhodes is just as gung ho and heroic as tony...

Great book

I was a little disappointed in the first volume of Ultimate Iron Man. But Card delivers in the sequel. The storyline is compelling and the plot goes somewhere. We see the seeds of Iron Man's strengths and faults in this issue. We get a chance to re-live the Iron Man saga, and re-love it all over again.

What the heck did I just read?? Sure as hell wasn’t iron man what was that?! His Brian is his whole body? No this was bad just bad zero stars not one…

The fist volume was weak and this book does not tie into the Ultimate Universe. Whats the point then? Not even a good book for the most die hard of Iron Man fans.

Wasn't a huge fan bought volume 1 and 2 at the same time just didn't sit right it's ok as a stand alone but doesn't sit right for iron man. If you want good iron man stories buy the 2 movies and watch them instead
