At first glance, you might not see how '24' relates to faith and to your relationship with God. However, the author succinctly makes the connection and gives you valuable pearls of wisdom to take with you in your daily life. With all that's going on in the world today, we can all use more faith, and someone like Jack Bauer, on our side!

Only the second star because the author makes an effort. But please. Don't watch this lurid show in the hopes of getting closer to God. I can pontificate on how God shows up when my dog is _________________, but that doesn't mean we should write a book about it. We shouldn't dwell on the profane. There are literally thousands of better bible study guides and better subjects of study. 24 is produced in godless Hollywood. Be separate from Hollywood. 24 is wicked. See episode 1 of season 2 for proof. It promotes a pragmatism that is against God's ways. Steer clear.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into it, I admit, but sticking with it paid off. Wesemann does a good job of capturing a profound faith point from each episode of season 1. As a result of reading this book I have been more attentive to the faith points I can draw from episodes of other seasons. A work like this, that makes you look a little deeper, pay closer attention, and build your faith, is a good investment.

I don't know about you,but I've had my share of bad days. As Christians we don't always "play our part" in life with the strongest of Faith that we could. Tim uses the script of 24, God's script "The Bible", and shares " personal performances" to inspire and encourage us to pursue a better "method od acting". You'll find God really is the "ultimate director" and to put your trust and hope in Him when you face those difficult "scenes" in life. Yes folks, "the clock is ticking"...... I don't know what's going to happen to Jack, but I'm looking for my own happy ending. Tim reassures that there is promise for our "performance". Just put more "action" in your Faith and let God "run the show". See you at the awards someday !

One might say that in season one of the television series 24, Jack Bauer was having a bad day. His wife and daughter were kidnapped by terrorists who wished to manipulate Jack into assassinating Senator David Palmer. His ex-girlfriend and trusted co-worker turned out to be a mole and killed his pregnant wife. In the midst of the story line revolving around Jack Bauer, author Tim Wesemann believes there are spiritual truths waiting to be explored.

Jack Bauer's Having a Bad Day is an "investigation" into those spiritual truths to be found in season one. The chapters are divided into 24 "faith truths" ranging from issues of trust, dependence, and integrity. Most chapters begin with a snippet from the 24 plot line before exploring the spiritual implications. At the back of the book is a reader's guide with 5 study questions per chapter for personal or group use.

While not every "faith truth" discussed in the book is obviously present in the plot line, each one bears important insight for Christian living. Tim Wesemann mixes personal stories and skillful writing with a keen perception for spiritual wisdom. Jack Bauer's Having a Bad Day is a witty, fun, and meaningful book that helps to make one of America's favorite shows more edifying.

When I first saw this book I thought the premise was a bit silly, but as a Christian and a 24 fan, I wanted to give it a try. I'm glad I did because it is one of the best Christian books I have ever read. This is a book to return to in all stages of your Christian walk.

The struggles of every day life, like what to believe, who to trust, and how to make a difference; are explored with a new twist... what if your life and the life of others depended upon your response. This book takes you under the surface of 24 and into the life changing events of every day faith.

The chapters correspond with an 'hour' so I've been reading a chapter each night. Don't miss it -- for in reality, your life really does depend upon how you respond!

I am one of those 24 adrenaline junkies! What an intense life Jack lives! Always on the edge and planning for somebody to be rescued or escaping from his own peril! I am so glad that I am not living like Jack, but Tim Wesemann reminds me that Jesus lives an even more exciting life than Jack. This book reminds me that hope and help are present even on my bleakest of days. Tim Wesemann encourages me, through Jack's behind-the-scenes planning and dangerous encounters, to forget about my circumstances, keeping my eyes open for how Jesus puts himself on the line for me.
