Makes it easy to play their songs
Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2014
I love the Eagles so this song book was a no brainer for me to buy. I am past needing finger placement charts in my guitar books for chords but they would be very helpful to those of us just beginning to play the guitar.
Included are some of their greatest hits, although I do wish it was a bit more complete but my fault for not reading about what I was getting. I would have bought a more complete edition. It's a great book though and I'd recommend this for Eagles fans, especially beginner guitar players as all chord finger placements are displayed with songs. Most chords are fairly simple as well. If you know the songs and follow the notes, you will sound great. I'm already going right through it, playing well after going through the songs a few times and I haven't played long either.
I give this a 5 star rating for ease of following along and chord display. It's surprising how simple these songs are to play. I love it and think you will too.

Hey, Come on, now !"Music of The Eagles" ! How on earth can it be anything but great ? I am novice guitarist, having taken only 6 lessons (at age 71 years) and have spent many hours listening to one of the great groups of music. I have wandered through the printed pages, singing the songs to myself. Although I have not yet, nor shall in the very near future have full use of the publication, I rest assured I shall not be disappointed. When you meet a beautiful women, look deep into her eyes, listen to her voice and watch her walk away, you somehow know that someday .......someday.

The melody is in standard notation, it has lyrics, and the chord diagrams are included. The strum pattern is one down stroke per beat (boring)and that is on everything that I have looked at. You will need to improvise on those strum patterns if playing alone. I played a couple of the songs and the chords seemed to work OK with the lyrics and melody, but I ran into a couple of chords that were either wrong or my ears are messed up worse than I thought. Most, not all, of the chords are relatively simple. Watch close for the little notations on the chords such as 3fr. They don't show the 3 frets, so if you miss the notation you'll be way off.
If you like to play the melody, the key for most of the songs is relatively simple (Key of F, C, G, or D) but one is more difficult in key of E (four sharps).
I'm not thrilled about the book, but it seems to be what it claimed, so I gave it four stars. Didn't give it five because the print quality is slightly fuzzy. Its comparable to an inkjet printer or second generation photocopy.

I love this book and grew up listening to the Eagles because my Dad loved their music and played it all the time. The chords are accurate and with some knowledge of basic strumming patterns it is possible to pull off a good acoustic version. No tabs, riffs, or solos. Just chords, and notation of melody and lyrics. It's more like a fake book of the Eagles. Very basic but perfect if you just want to sing and strum.

Lots of Eagles songs. This tablutature is good, just wish it had the recommended strum patterns for the songs. That would have been easy to add and the four down beats shown for 4/4 time is a boring strum pattern.

I just received this book and I am very impressed. I have only been playing the guitar for just a short while and still taking lessons. I like the way this book is laid out and easy to follow. Anyone that knows the Eagles' songs and know the basic chords can play the songs in this book. I am glad that I bought this book and recommend this to any beginner or advanced guitarist. It is ia fun book.

Bought this for a relative that was learning how to play the guitar. Unknown if it was easy or hard to learn. He loved the music by the eagles but no other info.

Other half is an Eagles fan (they really don't float my boat) and he is delighted with the purchase. I just leave him to practice, but unfortunately if you don't like the music of the Eagles, then it sounds even worse when it is being practised by an enthusiastic amateur, still keeps him out of mischief.
