This story has romance, intrigue, great characters, strong story line with a bit of mystery. But the greatest delight is the author's technique. It is hard to find "clean" literature properly written with effective vocabulary, correct construction and intelligent description. What a breath of fresh air, in every way. I will read everything David writes!

The forgiveness is what got me the most. How do you forgive that? But the book really brings you to understand it! Read on a recommendation and will definitely buy more from this author.

I have read and loved all of Beverly Lewis' books and decided to give David a chance. David's book is very different, but an absolute must read. I read it in one day, could not put it down. It was suspenseful and kept my interest to the very last page.

Unlike much of "Christian" fiction, this is not a sappy novel. It features realistic characters as well as a fairly believable story, with some suspense thrown in.

I loved this book so much. I couldn’t wait to begin where I’d left off after each read. A wonderfully captured story!

Never expected the direction but it was real and alive, was insight. Powerful writing and story creation. David Lewis is an amazing author. I look forward to many more insightful novels from this gifted author! Thank you Mr. Lewis for you heart that was woven into each character. Powerful!!

I felt the story was really shallow. There was no depth to the characters. We wait forever to find out what happened to Jessie's mother and then it was like the writer was tired of writting and just ended the story. There was nothing joyful about the book. It was all sad, nothing happy about it. The only likeable charcter was Bill (the Cowboy).
