I bought this as a supplement to my assigned readings for my Foundations in nursing practice philosophy course. Prior to obtaining this book I could not grasp the arguments in the articles I was reading. I also could not understand which theory went with which theorists and what the difference between a philosopher and a theorist is. I highly recommend this text because Anne Barker breaks everything down into simple language that is easy to understand and retain. I am now writing A grade papers where I was barely passing before.

I was highly encouraged by many colleagues to use Amazon because of their speed in delivery, and to be able to get a used book. I ordered the book September 20, and received it in the mail October 12. This is ridiculous, even for "snail mail". I will think twice before ordering another text book through Amazon.
