Midnight's Master Paperback – July 1, 2009

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 223 ratings

In this sexy, gripping novel, Cynthia Eden draws readers deeper into the realm of the Others--vampires, shifters, and sinfully attractive demons whose powers are matched only by their dark hungers. . .

Tall, dark, and formidable, Niol Lapen is the last demon on earth most people would ask for a favor, yet the sexy little reporter who wanders into his club dares to do exactly that. Holly Storm already knows too much about his kind, and Niol has no wish to help her get in deeper over her head. But working alongside her may be the only way to stop a killer, even as it ignites a primal desire unlike anything he's known.

Holly has seen firsthand what Niol is capable of, but that doesn't frighten her nearly as much as her body's instinctive reaction to him, or the wild, fierce passion that would tempt her to follow him through hell itself. Something evil and relentless is prowling the streets of Atlanta. And as Holly's search leads her into danger that even Niol could never have predicted, she'll uncover a secret that could rip her world apart. .

"Fast-paced, fun, and steamy,
Midnight's Master is a page-turning treat!" --Jeaniene Frost

It wasn't a bad book at all, really. In this one, the "villain" was a little tiny bit more understandable and you might be able to get a small clue as to the identity of this one. There were a few times when I think the wrong name or word were used, but it wasn't very bad. The only problem I really had is that, unlike the last book in the series, this book has no chapter demarcations. Chapter demarcations make it so much easier to see how close you are to the end of a chapter or to find a stopping place when you need to do so. The characters are still great and the plot was interesting, but this book took me longer to read than others of the same length. I think it was just because I haven't read this exact level of erotica lately. I don't know if there will ever be another one, but I hope there will be some day. If you liked the previous books in the series, I say you should give this one a shot. Have at it because I don't think you'll be disappointed. Perhaps the next one will be written sooner rather than later.

This is an excellent read. I love suspense that is well done and the sensual sexual tension between our two lead characters is HOT!! This is my first Cynthia Eden book but it is not my last.

Niol is a fasinating person. He is a demon, one of the strongest. He is drawn to Holly from the first time he meets her. I loved the danger and virility he projects. He runs a club for Others.

Holly Storm is a reporter, she witnesses the death of one of her demon informants. But he is not the last, soon another demon informant of hers dies. She turns to Niol for help, Which he is unwilling to give, until she is almost killed by a hit and run.

The story is tense and so is the romance. This is a very sensual romance, so be ready to skip a few pages if it gets too HOT!! These are two hard headed people. I love the fact that she stood up to Niol and showed how strong she was. It is well worth the money and I am going to look for more books by this author.

Just finished Midnight's Master and I absolutely loved it. A word of advice though, if you have not read the first 2 books (Hotter After Midnight & Midnight Sins) of this "trilogy", I suggest you reading them. Although these can be read as standalone novels, reading the first two will give you insight and knowledge of all the characters and stories.

Midnight's Master had everything the other two had, suspense, mystery, action and lots of sizzling romance. But this one was more intense, and more emotional than the others. It had be wondering and guessing throughout who the murderer was.

Loved the two main characters, Niol who we see through out the series and Holly who we meet in Midnight's Sins. Both strong characters. Niol, we know as a VERY strong Demon, who's almost unstoppable, but has his weakness. Holly, a weak human, who actually turns out to be stronger than most. They are a perfect match.

This was filled with lots of twists and turns, suspense throughout. Very fast paced and very hard to put down. Excellent read and a great series.

I am not going into detail about what the books is about, as others have already done it. I thought this book was absolutely wonderful. If I could give it six stars, I would. It is a page turner, full of action, suspense and passion. The hero, Niol, is a demon and oh what a demon. You can't help but love this powerful guy and then, of course, there is the sex appeal. This is a steamy book and is for those who are looking for a little bit more graphic in the sexual pleasures. However, it is not over done. The Heroine, Holly, is smart and very head strong and determined and that is what Niol likes about her. She has spunk and is not easy to scare. This is my first book of Cynthia Eden and wow....what an introduction to her style of writing. She has me hooked on looking for more books written by her. I hope she continues to write "Other" books wish such zest, passion and suspense as she did with Midnight's Master.

Very so so kind of book. A bit of a let down for me as I saw some pretty good reviews for this book. The writing, plot and characters were ok, but nothing more than that. I finished reading it a few days ago and have already forgotten a lot of the book. It just wasn't that memorable.

I have read quite a few of Cynthia Edens books, this by far is one of my very favorites. Perhaps one of my favorite demon books ever.

Niol is dark and has a reputation for really being an SOB. So why was it so hard for me to dislike him, I just couldnt. He had reasons for his "attitude" and somehow most of them were admirable. An admirable demon, who'dathunk it?

Holly, our seemingly fearless, do-gooder, reporter heroine. She takes her job quite seriously, and is very disturbed when her friends/informants keep showing up dead, becoming a bigger part of the story than she would have dreamed.

There was a few times where I threw my hands up in glee thinking I figured it out, only to find out soon after I was wrong. That was part of the fun though! The other part was Niol and Holly's interaction. Yum! And boy did some revelations just smack you in the face with "AH-HA!!" moments!

OMG! OMG! Niol and Holly are my favourite couple of all time! Niol is such a bad boy but when he and Holly get closer he just softens just a little and I LOVE that about him. What? No girl can turn down a bad boy! It's true, just read this book and it will prove my point :D I have re-read this book at least 20 times!

Good paranormal read from an author who knows how to execute a good story. A few layout issues but other than that enjoyed this story.
