This is a FABULOUS book!!! If there are single men or women out there who would like to figure out how to communicate with each other, this is a wonderful read and useful tool! I had no idea men thought in compartments but after reading the book and talking with men about it, it is amazing to see the expression on their faces... their eyes get wide... and to hear them say "YEAH!!! That's EXACTLY how it is!!" Great job, Bill and Pam!

This book is really good! It's easy to read and relate to! Plus it's funny! It arrived really fast and in perfect condition. It hits the differences between men and women from many different angles. If you're wanting to understand male and female differences more, this is a good, easy read. It helps singles relate to the opposite sex in all relationships.

There will always be differences between the sexes, and of course the observations made in this book about he and she are not globally applicable to everyone, as they are out of necessity, generalizations.

That having been said, the Farrels have an absolutely wonderful take on and understanding of the differences between men and women that all too often lead to conflict in relationships that could otherwise be avoided if only we knew the things that too often only come out in couples' therapy, or therapy alone after a perhaps needless divorce.

Of special note are the humorous jokes included at the end of each chapter; one can easily see both men and women laughing hysterically at the jokes included from "their" point of view and begrudgingly understanding the humor in those written from the viewpoint of the opposite sex.

In my opinion, this and "Love & Respect" by Emerson Eggerichs should be required reading in all singles groups and premarital and marital and family counseling sessions.

My husband and I are reading this book with our singles group at church. Our group is mostly working singles that are 30-50. Each week we find ourselves trying to calm everyone down as they discuss the things that offended them in the book. I think the authors tried to take a tongue-in-cheek attitude but it didn't work, at least for our group of single adults. There are some good points to the book which is why I didn't give it less than 3 stars. If you're working with a group that gets easily offended, choose something else. If your group is in a place where they can really laugh at themselves then I suggest you give it a try.

I like the Farrels' style. Gives some real practical advice. Pam tells about how God brought Bill into her life at the right time.

My wife and I were already giving their original book to newlyweds at the shower or wedding. We also recommend this book for marriageable-aged singles. The principles in the book are appropriate for even younger children when discussed around the supper table. It is insightful and fun. It explains a whole heap of questions.

I have bought several copies of this book. I give it to friends as wedding gifts (while pairing it with Intimate Issues). Our pastor loaned the book intended for singles when we were dating, then shared the one intended for married couples after he married us. It gave us a common starting place and common language when trying to decipher our differences when communicating. We have been married 8 1/2 years and still refer to "being in a box" or "having too many noodles on my plate."

Practical and Biblical. Helpful for young and old. This book can save a marriage even though written to singles. That should tell you it's good.
