It is shown as "paperback", but is not actually, it's wrapped in a torn "plastic" cover, which is very ugly. The content itself is really disappointing since most of the words lack a multiple explanations, the "English-Tibetan" part even lack Tibetan words. I least recommend this "dictionary" if you are looking for one that can help you with study/work.

Greetings

This book is an excellent dictionary for scholars but I find it rather difficult to orientate in it for me as a layman in tibetan language.
I was actually looking for a simple "Touristkind " of dictonary where tibetan words and phrases were listed from english to tibetan from A to Z., where the corresponding tibetan words,phrases and so forth were listed alphabetically accordingly
But I really havent studied it in detail just looked a bit so maybe it will make more sense to me later on when I get the spirits to do it
Maybe Amazon can reccomend that kind of dictionary.

Although I understand the technical reasons for not doing so, I wish that the examples and compounds were in the Tibetan script as the base entries are. I appreciate, however, the citations being full phrases so that the dictionary helps one learn written Tibetan. I especially appreciate the providing of the Sanskrit in devanagri where a Tibetan term is used technically as a translation of a Buddhist Sanskrit term. This is especially important for those whose primary language is Sanskrit but must learn Tibetan because so many Sanskrit Buddhist texts were lost.
