I have a soft spot for Rich DelGrosso's Mandolin Method, but this book is a letdown. The book is short (about 34 pages) and the melodies on the simple side. I know it says "easy" in the title, but this is ridiculous. I thought it was a companion volume to his method, but in fact you could go completely to the end of this book after doing only about 40% of his method.

The one plus I can say is that they did the accompanying CD right: the mandolin on the left track, the mandolin accompaniment on the left, without the channels being mixed together or there being any other decorative distraction on the CD.

If you buy it, make sure you're getting the edition with the CD. They also sell just the book alone.

Lo scopo di essere un volumetto didattico di accompagnamento ad un metodo, da utilizzare con un maestro, è fin troppo chiaro una volta in mano all'acquirente. La mancanza di indicazione riguardo la diteggiatura od anche solo le tablature od un suggerimento per come formare gli accordi indicati lo rendono, a mio giudizio, incompleto. E' anche privo dei testi delle canzoni.
