Top review from the United States

Only about 50 pages of a very brief and not very reliable grammatical sketch. This early introduction to the Dakota language by missionaries was published first in 1893 and it is sad to think that there still isn't a more detailed and reliable grammar of Dakota. If you want to get a good introduction to the language I recommend the Lakota Grammar Handbook which is the most detailed grammar written on a Native American language. Lakota and Dakota are closely related so you are better of studying the language from an accurate Lakota grammar than from an unreliable Dakota grammar.
