I knew she was a genius when I was in her class a few years ago; we used many of these strategies / poems in her class...but now I use them in my classroom and the kids LOVE them. Not only do they LOVE them, they remember the terms and applications months later. I know it says for grades 6-8, but I used them in my 10th grade class (since no one knew gerunds and participle phrases when asked) and my 10th graders went above and beyond all expectations. DO not hesitate to buy this. These poems make them personal for each child and in return, they are invested in the grammatical application as well.

This was my go-to book for participles, etc. Great pattern poems.

A fascinating short textbook, and a superb teacher. I will never forget her class or her spunk!

This is a wonderful way to integration grammar, poetry, figurative language, literature, art, and more into your lessons. I love it! And my students have enjoyed it too.

Love the publishing ideas in this book. The lessons are easy to modify for your own classroom, though many don't even require that. Easy to use, and the students LOVE them! And many poems can be used for more than one grammar concept. Great book!

I was hoping for a fun reproducible book where I would pull lessons out for my grade 7 - 10 students (second language learners, low levels) but I was disappointed. I don't think the topics are very interesting.
