I bought this book as an additional source to other books I had and I must say that this is the best one I've seen. I orginally bought it on the Kindle but I've realized that the Kindle, although great for reading regular books where you go from start to finish is great, it is not so good for text books where you go back an forth for reference or check answers near the back of the book. It's very annoying for when you have to flip back and forth to different sections on the Kindle. Also, the book comes with audio cd's and when you buy on the Kindle, they do NOT send you the CD's which is a rip off. Although in this particular case, the CD's are not good. As good as the book is, the CD's are bad. The audio quality is not good in many parts with background noise, they pronounce the Korean so slow, no one talks that way. And the English guy (with a very heavy English accent) is almost as hard to understand. What sounds like "muddle" is "model" and what seems like "damaged it" is "don't mention it". Anyway, I found the CD's a total waste, but the book is precious. I highly recommend it.

Open the cover and the first page you find is page 21 - somewhere close to the end of the first chapter. No intro, no TOC, and so on. Flipped through the whole book - it's not a matter of the pages being out of order - they are just plain missing.

=== You can actually get the Audio CD here: [...]

They mention you can get the MP3 but it kept saying I was out of region!

So the book puts heavy emphasis on using the CD, and also on skipping around to check answers in the rear (as someone else mentioned) so its a little annoying.

However, but the actual content itself is really good. I come from speaking Japanese so although a little more on the rules of grammar would be nice, its quite understandable and gets to the point.

I like this book a lot and would definitely recommend it to others.

The colloquial series of books are usually very good. This one was not even colloquial, it overly focused on the written language. The electronic format of the book is sloppy. Korean text is not treated as text but pictures of text, zooming that text made it unreadable. Amazon tried to help with technical issue to no avail.

This book is a pretty good resource for learning basic Korean. It has much substance too. Dialogs are presented in both Korean and Romanization, so it's easy to follow. So far I like it.

This book is okay if you would like to learn Korean for business and are already familiar with the basics of Korean. It attempts to teach you the basics of Korean grammar while teaching you conversation that is relevant to business. I think it is too fast paced for a true beginner, and is more appropriate for an advanced beginner. The book comes with exercises, and answers on the back, as a well as CD which are all helpful for individuals learning Korean on their own. The male speaker on the CD does not sound like a native Korean speaker, but his speech is still good and may actually be easier for non-native speakers to understand. I give it 3 starts instead of 4 because I would have liked to have seen 2 more chapters in the beginning about basic Korean grammar, with shorter, easier conversations about non-business topics like family.

It's a decent enough book, but certainly not what you're looking for if you're looking for colloquial ability. If don't you have basic understanding of the language this book isn't a good choice for getting you started. I you do have a basic understanding then this book won't help you much because at that point you'll likely be looking for ways to sound and understand the side of the language that's more commonly spoken than you learned in class or from a text book, in other words colloquial. This book certainly does not provide that. Sadly, it's rather difficult to find books on commonly used korean, and this book continues that onerous tradition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buch und CD hervorragend
Reviewed in Germany on February 1, 2016
So macht lernen Spaß.

It makes memorizing easy with a lot of fun exercises. Only downside is that it requires the CD to use the book. You must get the CD with the book.
