Being a teacher, I get invited to a lot of showers for women in the building who are pregnant. Being a man, the last thing I want to do is get them a breast pump. Instead, I provide them with this delightfully humorous book. I have been through and read it as well and I can tell you that it will be one of the best gifts prospective parents could receive. All of my friends I have given it too have told me how much they enjoyed reading the book. I highly recommend it to anyone!

I purchased this to give to my pregnant sister and she loved it. I had also purchased it for my mother who works in Labor and Delivery at the hospital. It's a great gift and very funny to read.

This book is hilarious, its not for your "dual income no kids" first time parents with no sense of humor. This is for the parent who already has a kid perhaps or has a good, dark, sense of humor. We enjoyed reading this while pregnant with our 3rd because it is such hilarious satire on the experience. Highly recommended.

I bought this book because I saw the author on The Daily Show, and, well, we are expecting, so it seemed to make sense. David Javerbaum was absolutely hysterical on TV so I figured the book would be equally funny.

I found the book to be generally enjoyable, but I'm not sure where it fits. I've already read "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and the book does follow a very similar structure - taking you through each month, listing the changes that the fetus goes through and some other points of discussion.

While I found the book to be funny, and it did have some LOL moments, it wasn't as funny as I thought. It obviously isn't intended as a replacement for "What to Expect When You're Expecting" so I guess it's more of a funny companion. I think the book is best read as an accompaniment to that book, or maybe as a substitute if one of the parents isn't willing to read the 'real' book. Some of the language and topics can be coarse so it's not something you could read to an older child expecting a younger sibling. It does provide some laughs, so maybe it would be best as a way to take a break from the 'seriousness' of expecting a child?

I guess not every book needs a place, and this one was enjoyable enough to be worth reading anyway.

This book was recommended to me by a lady at the bookstore, they didn't have it instock, so I came online and found a used version of it. I have never laughed so hard at the satire in this book.

If you enjoy Seinfeld like humour, you'll get this and enjoy every minute of it. Is it meant to be taken seriously..of course not...You should laugh at some point during your pregnancy, there are enough books out there to make you scared, panicky and nervous about being a first time Mom and I throughly needed the laughs after reading all the serious books out there! LOVED IT!

I thought this will be humorously written useful info. There's almost nothing useful here, and the jokes are often too much and at times disrespectful, with hard attempts to be used in every single sentence, which gets old quick. So if the audience is expectant parents looking for a giggle, they will be disappointed by the lack of useful information. If the audience is broader, it has too many unnecessary specifics, added for some reason randomly here and there. For me it was only a couple of LOL moments (I think literally two) and a whole LOT of scrolling past and getting annoyed and bored. Confuzzling. There are much better books to make you feel at ease with your pregnancy, and much funnier, smarter books if you are looking for a laugh.

Note to self: do not buy books on the topic of interest written by average comedians.

I wish this book was out when I was pregnant 2 years ago. I couldn't wait until one of my friends got pregnant. I have bought several copies and sent them to all my first time mom friends. They in turn have sent copies to their pregnant friends. Being pregnant is hard enough, it's great to have a book that will make you laugh when your feeling sick or tired all the time.

This has become the official gift I give to my friends/family when I find out they're expecting. If you are easily offended by the F word or any other "bad" words then this book will not be for you. But if you have a good sense of humor and are not easily offended, then you'll love it. There is way too much stuff out there for expecting and new parents, most of which will scare the bejeezus out of them with all that can go wrong. So it's refreshing to take a moment to laugh and not take it so seriously.

An enjoyable read that can be done in one setting. Nice to have a baby book that didn't scare the crap out of me every chapter.
