Fire & Ice (Black Lace) Paperback – April 1, 2010

3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

Nina, auditor extraordinaire, is known at work as the Ice Queen, where her colleagues joke that her frosty demeanor travels to the bedroom. But what they don't know is that Nina spends her after-work hours locked into fiery games with her boyfriend Andrew, where she acts out her deepest fantasy of being a prostitute. Nina ups the stakes in her anonymous guise, being drawn deeper and deeper into London's seedy underworld—where everything can be bought and sold and no one is to be trusted.

When Nina decides to make a change she goes all out. Her co-workers call her the Ice Queen because she never dates and doesn't allow anyone too close. Having spent most of the last few years sealed off from everyone around her she takes a huge step when she decides to reacquaint herself with the dating world. Coming to the end of an audit, she finds herself dating her client Andrew and taking the plunge to explore her sexuality.

Andrew finds that Nina is more fire than ice as they begin by discussing all of the fantasies she has never let herself act on. He decides to take matters into his own hands and bring some of her most erotic musings to life. At times pushing her to a point almost past what she can handle.

Although Nina is beginning to love this new found sexual freedom, she finds herself wondering if what Andrew is giving her is what she truly needs.Turning to her best friend Angie and her co-worker Max she begins to seek the answers she is looking for. But Max has reservations about Andrew beginning with his audit and ending with Nina. Max isn't the only one, his friend George is a cop and working on a lead that has Andrew and his godfather Costas right at the top of his list. Dark secrets and betrayals are revealed as they continue their search for answers and Nina discovers what she truly desires.

The plot line for FIRE & ICE by Laura Hamilton was good. I loved the ending and felt that it really brought the whole book to a great close. I did feel that there could have been more emotion involved as it felt almost cold at times but really enjoyed the characters. Definitely not for the faint at heart as there are extreme instances of sexual dominance and voyeurism.
