How are you going to snag one if you don't know how to....Think Like a Guy? E! News anchor Giuliana DePandi knows that if you want a little piece of his heart, you're going to have to learn to get into his head--and she shares her knowledge as an on-the-town dater in L.A. into this funny but oh-so-practical and effective volume.

DePandi knows what it's like "out there", and has done extensive field work to learn what turns guys off...and on. Here's a pop quiz:

Should you

...mention your mom on a first date?

...cook a guy breakfast after your first sleepover at his place?

...pick at your food when he takes you to dinner?

...tell him how many lovers you've had before he came along?

...leave him long voicemails if you can't reach him on the phone?

The resounding answer to all the questions above, according to DePandi, is: NO! You should, in fact, be busy and breezy, offer to pay for dinner, leave short voicemails (and none at all if you don't have anything concrete to say), stay well-dressed and -groomed, and make your guy feel like he's the first to introduce you to anything kinky in bed.

Think Like a Guy is a hard-headed practical book for women who acknowledge that men and women simply think differently.

This book is for those with a sense of humour. The bottom line is...men generally (yes, not all men, blablabla, we know, nobody is insinuating that all 3 billion plus men are the same) do not sit around crying when you don't call, they don't get completely mushy on the first date, and they don't insinuate wanting to spend their whole life with you on the first date. Many women do that. The majority of women who do that are single women. This book is for them. This book isn't for women who don't do that. It's pretty self explainatory.
We all have an aspect of it, and in little degrees it can be cute and just part of our personality. To me, it seemed like she was addressing the women who have the CrazyCombo package, cooing over babies, calling men to scream at them 'cause they didn't call withing three days, dressing and acting like Paris Hilton to get a guy, etc.
It's like with ANY how to book. You take what you need and leave what you don't.Most of it was just silly, I found her writing really silly, but I did get some common sense advice, like not getting a guy's number, 'cause if he doesn't want my number, I don't want to waste my time with him. For me and my personality and busy schedule, it makes sense not to. That may not be for everyone and their personalities and schedules.
Whatever, people will always criticize, but it's a fun and easy read.
But, I'd get it at the library...

This is one of the BEST books I have read for hopeless romantics (like me) who are constantly waiting by the phone for the guy to call. She gives a very realistic perspective on what bugs men about women, and how woman can learn to "tone it down a bit". I believe she wrote this a bit tongue-in-cheek, with advice that shouldn't be taken completely literally, but as a good reminder that us women can be a bit obsessive, overkill, and too heart-on-the-sleeve. I highly recommend this book for women who have been left wondering "why didn't he call?" or women who haven't dated much. It DOES help you get into the mind of a guy (regardless of what some of these other reviews say). I think this book is more of a humorous commentary on women in the dating scene than actual step by step advice on finding the perfect man (you can find that in the more boring, serious books). This book had me laughing out loud. Very enjoyable and TRUE! Thanks, Giuliana.

After reading "I Do, Now What" by Giuliana and Bill I wanted to try this one. I was expecting the same humor and heart I found in I Do, Now What and I was disappointed with this book. The humor is still there but it feels like she is trying too hard to get a laugh. Also, I would not recommend for anyone who is religious. She seems to look down on certain things involving religious beliefs. That aside - I understand that people with strong religious beliefs are not her target audience so she probably does a fine job appealing to her audience. Overall, it wasn't nearly as funny or as sweet as I Do, Now What and I found the advice to be cheesy and just plain common sense. I still think Giuliana is great - just not this book.

This book is well-written with some really GREAT tips. Honestly, I don't know that all of them are practical and, unless you're secretly growing a [...], might just not be "do-able" as a female. But, she does reveal some GREAT insights into how men view various female behaviors and is WELL WORTH a read.

This is a great book. As a guy, honestly, I must say women do the weirdest things. Here is a guide to help you KNOCK OFF the dumb and self defeating behaviors. It also has wit and real honesty about where guys are coming from and yes, guess what, guys DON'T THINK LIKE CHICKS. News flash!

I really like Giuliana and was very excited to read this book. I had recently gotten out of a long term relationship and was needing something to jump start me back into the dating world. The main reason my ex and I didn't last is most of what he had told me was a lie and the true him eventually came out. It took a year and a half for the real him to manifest. I was devastated and felt like I did all my homework up front. This book was the WORST thing for me to read. Basically all it tells you is to lie and pretend to be someone you are not. Yes, I agree most girls are impatient and at times can scare men off. However, then you need to read "He's not that into you." There wasn't ONE piece of advice in this book that I will follow. It's completely superficial and am amazed that she actually got married. Again, I love Giuliana. I've been a fan for a very long time. Still in denial she is actually this fake on the inside. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!

This is book is exactly what it says it's going to be. Giuliana has such a fun perspective on dating and actually gives you confidence through the page. She also makes you feel like she's that friend that you always go to for the best advice and is always there for a great time. I highly recommend for women of all ages. Carrie Bradshaw has a rival!
