New bible in my favorite color!!!
I have been trying different translations of the Bible to see which one I can read and understand the best. This one has been that for me. I really like it. It is the perfect size to put in a handbag if needed yet not as small as my children’s bibles they have (compact sizes) The pages are the same type of page I have had in all of my other bibles (the thinner pages) if I underline or anything I use gel pens in light/neon colors so it doesn’t bleed through. The words are the perfect size to me and I love that it does have the red lettering in it recognizing when Christ spoke. All in all I would highly recommend this bible. Also, the color just happens to be my favorite color

I wanted a bible that was portable, and this bible does it. I do wish it were slightly smaller, but it is still definitely portable. It fits in the small pocket of my backpack along with my journal. Other awesome things are that Jesus' spoken words are printed in red. It also does look and feel very official. It may not be real leather or anything like that, but it feels very nice in my hand. It flexes very easily, which is something I was looking for as well, because I'm not a fan of hardcover books when I am reading them for long periods of time and especially when I am carrying them around.

The print is definitely readable. I don't wear glasses, but I also don't have 20-20 vision. I can read this absolutely fine with no strain, even after reading for a long time. The pages are thin, but it's the same as every other bible in the world. I didn't notice an "bleed through" of the text because I am have read many bibles in my life, and this looks the same. I never felt like I needed to re-read something because I couldn't make out the words.

I don't know what more to say. As for the NASB version, I like it, but I can't say it's better because it all depends what you prefer. If you are really concerned about exact translations, learn the hebrew and greek languages and get some original texts to study. Otherwise you are going to get someone's opinion on what the bible says. It doesn't matter how open-minded people are, there is always a small amount of bias when they translate something like this, even if it's not a negative bias.

I have been lugging around my 'big boomer' MacArthur NKJV, mindlessly, for years. Love that bible but it was getting a little beat up and for some reason I only just began to be bothered by its bulk. And lots of my peers and our church leaders use NASB.
Been using this for a month and really like it. My big boomer sits nearby at home, and it's great for diving in. But I also realized that we didn't have iPhones and tablets to use as companions when I bought my study bible - we do now...
I love the cover - I don't recall if it's leatherette or real leather - to me, it's beautiful, and feels expensive to boot.
I've been very pleasantly surprised with the value and will recommend wholeheartedly to anyone - unless they want a bigger bible either for bigger print or for 'extras' like study material and commentary - and even this bible has some stuff in the front and back that I've not fully explored - one thing I did see and like was a topical study e.g. verses about life issues and events and questions.

I just received my "NASB Thinline Bible, Large Print" today. I wanted to provide a "current update" for those interested in purchasing this Bible.

As others have pointed out, this Bible is amazingly "thin." It measures 3/4" thick (9.6" tall, and 6.6" wide). Needless to say, the pages have to be very thin in order to squeeze-in over 1100 pages into such a thin package (actually 1100 divided by 2... front & back pages). You will need to choose your highlighters carefully, or you will have problems with "bleed-through." I might also point out that the cover is a "Bonded Leather" cover.

As another reviewer pointed out, "Large Print" font does not mean "Giant Print" or "huge font." The font is nearly equivalent to Times New Roman 10 point. This is not huge... but it is not tiny. The average person should be able to read it just fine. I am not sure what "font style" they use, but I must admit that it is very easy to read, and it actually looks as though it is much larger than what it actually is.

To give you some perspective of the font size, it is equivalent to Times New Roman 10 point (which is what I used for comparison purposes). Yet the text is so nice that at a glance, I thought the font was a 12 point font.

It is a "Red Letter" edition (words of Christ in red), and the red text is not hard on the eyes, and both the black and red text are very easy to read.
In addition to a limited concordance in the back, there are two small sections covering: "Promises from the Bible" (2 pages), and "Perspectives from the Bible" (3 pages), followed by a few maps.

All in all, it is perfect for someone who simply wants "The Bible" for "study through reading" purposes without the additional commentary and notes. Let me also add that there is very little room for note-taking. This is mainly for someone such as myself, that has plenty of Study Bibles, but simply wants to "read the Word" without the distraction of other peoples commentary.

For those who need the commentary and/or chain-references, there are countless Study Bibles on the market that will fulfill your need.

I am very pleased with this Bible.

The cover feels nice and appears durable, and the sewn pages should last a long time. The print is a little small, but the easy-to-read font and spacing make it very comfortable on the eyes. I was very pleased to discover that my Bible highlighter doesn't bleed through as it has in some of my other Bibles. (You can faintly see the colour on the other side, but it doesn't bleed). I haven't used a pen in it yet, so I can't comment on that. I like it so much that I have actually ordered another one!
