Although the textbook took a little more time than I hoped, it still got here within shipping date and just in time. A quick look through and the pages were beautiful and the cover and back were in better shape than I expected. I will make good use of it for the upcoming semester.

I found the concepts in this book to be well laid out. I was concerned that I would not be able to understand the content, as I read some scary reviews for the book when I ordered it, but it was a required book to purchase for my communications course. I was pleasantly surprised. The terms were described well, although you would sometimes have to read an entire section in order to understand the "whole picture" but who can really be upset about that? We are supposed to do a little bit of reading.

The images were also helpful in a number of cases.

This got a 4 out of 5 star rating for me.

I like how cheap this book was. It isnt very different from the newer 13th edition and I like to have books in print.

Bought this for a class, it was required. That said, I HATE this book. I am a reader, I love to read; it's what I do in my free time. For me to actually hate a book is unheard of really. This is a textbook, and it is definitely packed with a lot of information; too much. It is unbelievable to me how many terms have been created for different aspects of communication. He seems to wander off the topic of communication also. The author goes on and on and on and on and on...you get the picture. Since it's a textbook, students won't get a vote about it for the class.

I had to buy this book for a Human Communication course and so far, I find it to be interesting. It deals with a number of aspects of communication and I appreciate the self-tests as well.
