Carolyn Graham is the creator of Jazz Chants, which connect the rhythm of spoken American English to the beatof jazz. She developed the technique of jazz chanting during her twenty-five years of teaching ESL in the American Language Institute of New York University. I'm a public school ESOL teacher with many beginning English language learners. This is a good supplement to Carolyn Graham's Jazz Chants book and CD, and focuses on language and life targeted specifically to third graders (like "who likes whom", etc.). It's not as well-written as the 1st grade Let's Chant Let's Sing, though, which is terrific for most grades. Just be sure to get the one with the CD included: it has a little round green CD symbol in the left corner of the book cover.
