So many cool historical stories, well told, and well thought out. I wish I could keep it, but alas I rented it.

This book is well written, succinct, power-packed in every chapter. What we don't know about history is amazing and what the new Historians are discovering now as they look at historical records. We have learned so much and there is so much more.

My History Professor used this book to supplement the actual text book for our class. It really has some interesting stories and facts from different points of view and made the actual text book kind of boring...however, this book would not suffice for the entire class. But if you like history, this book is interesting and well written.

My students use this book in my APUSH class. I ordered the Kindle edition for my IPad. This allows me to highlight passages and add notes in preparation for a class discussion on a chapter. I hook my IPad up to my projector as part of the class discussion. The book teaches my students to understand how a historian studies history. The chapter topics are interesting and thought provoking. This is a great history book.

This text is fascinating, and a wonderful read. It's great that this book is available for rental in Kindle format for students who aren't going to need the book very long. (IE: me.) However, the Kindle formatting for this book is really bad. The print is tiny, notes and highlighting don't work, and I can't access the book from my iPhone, tablet, or PC. Really, really just a disappointing production of a good text.

The book gives you insight on how history is interpreted/reviewed/looked over. It does a very through job of it. Some chapters can get very verbose (the verbosity can be confusing), but it should be no problem if you plan how to read the chapters and follow the plan.

Not a bad read for a history book. It actually keeps my attention, which is saying a lot. Overall impressed by the book.
