I was born in a log cabin in Illinois and used to write by candlelight with a piece of chalk on a shovel. Oh, wait a minute. That was Abraham Lincoln.

Actually, I’m a children's book author. I’ve written more than 170 books for kids from kindergarten up to middle school.

For the little ones, I write picture books like "Rappy the Raptor," about a rapping raptor named Rappy, who raps.

For beginning readers, I write "My Weird School," about some kids who go to a school in which all the grownups are crazy. Thirty-one million copies have been sold. I also write “Wait! WHAT?” a series of biographies that focus on the unusual aspects of people like Albert Einstein, Amelia Earhart, Muhammad Ali, and Teddy Roosevelt.

For middle-graders, I write the baseball card adventure series, about a boy who has the power to travel through time using a baseball card like a time machine. He goes on adventures with players like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays, and others.

For advanced readers, I write "The Genius Files," "Flashback Four,” “Houdini and Me” and others.

My grandson loves reading these books. Reading these books makes him want to read more and builds up his confidence in his reading skills.. He struggles with some words but overall easy to read.

“They are funny and nice because they have a lot of adventures. An I want my school to be like that because it is a good school and they do exercise while they are learning how to care the planet.” Silvana 8 years and Martin 6 years

This series is so funny. It is about 2nd grade children and their days at school. Each book is about a different teacher. My grandson is 8 and laughs about something in each chapter. I love the books as much as he does and I am a Grandmother. I would recommend this book and the other ones in the series to every child since the book's main character are both boys and girls so funny for both genders. GREAT SERIES - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We have read all 21 books in this series and they are all hilarious.

I'm just thrilled that my son who is 8, is enjoying to read. He actually gets a kick out of reading the funny parts over to me. Mr Granite was one of his favorite...I guess because he winds up actually being from another planet (MY SON LOVES STAR WARS). If you have a 7 or 8 year old who hates reading then these books may be the answer you've been looking for. Yeah they may be a little easy but why does reading have to be hard. First get them hooked and this is good bait.

My 8 year old loves this series but reads them way too fast. She read the whole thing as soon as she got it, but that didn't matter, she just read it again and again. She really enjoyed this book.

My daughter loves this series of book and even though she can plow through one of them in a day it is still a book that distracts her from TV, computer or video games. That is a plus in todays society. The content is decent for late second graders but I always would advise a parent to skim a book before handing it over to their child to read.

Grand kids highly recommend these books. I think they are silly but I am not reading them for me. They are very active and keep the boys' attention. I do wish our hero were a bit "nicer," but that is one of the things that makes them fun for the kids. Grades 1-4 love them..

This book was a good read, but childish. I liked this but would not recommend it. I think this is a great book if you are bored, but I would not read this in my leisure time.
