My parents read this to me when I was little and my children love it as much as I did. It was a hit for First Grade mystery reader and sends the message that anyone can learn. It also shows that learning can be fun!

This was -one of- my favorite books when I was a kid (I am almost 35). In fact, this book is what gave me a love of reading!
Reading this again is like turning back the clock; it takes me back to childhood, and brings back memories from when I was just a kid.

My just turned 5 year old grandchild enjoyed this book tremendously when I read it to him. But this is NOT a Level 1 Beginning Reader. I bought this book thinking that, since it was suppose to be a Level 1 reader, that my grandson would be able to read it to me. He has been reading since he was almost 4 and he has read approximately 70 easy reader and Level 1 books. This book is more like a Level 2. In a year my grandson will probably be able to read this book...but certainly not now even though he has already read MANY Level 1 books.

My children always loved this book, so they purchased an extra copy for their grandfather
And framed in for him to remember how special he made their child hood.

My son loved this book when he was little. One summer day, he left the book outside and our dog chewed it up. My son was heartbroken. Fast forward 20 years, and I was delighted to find this book again! I have tucked it away for when my son becomes a dad.
