Ordered this text book for Medical terminology in Spanish as an elective. Being a fluent Spanish speaker, I didn't think much of it. To my surprise it was filled with great information that not only helped me, I know it helped my fellow students. I only wish I would have kept up with it to continue to use through out my career.

I had a yr of high school & college Spanish well over 20 yrs ago. This book/cd set is a conversational approach to medical Spanish, not multiple grammar lessons. Because I thought the cd jumped around a lot, I finally just put it in my car and memorized the vocabulary & dialogue sections while driving to-from work. When combined, I found I did pretty well. When I was unclear as to the context or pronunciation I checked the book for a visual reference/connection. I'm not a native speaker but I'm MUCH better off than I was and that's a step in the right direction. Besides, I'm not done w/ it yet.

I took a college level medical Spanish course 11 years ago that used this text book and the accompanying audio cd. I have since taken two more similar courses but I'm convinced that all of the pharases and pronunciation I utilize in my medical practice comes from this text and cd. The cd in particular effectively taught me the properly conjugated commands that facilitate a medical exam and treatment instructions.
