Mark Thurston, Ph.D. is an educator, psychologist, and author of eighteen books about practical spirituality. His previous publications include The Essential Edgar Cayce, Discovering Your Soul's Purpose, Dreams: Tonight's Answers for Tomorrow's Questions, and Synchronicity As Spiritual Guidance. He is also co-author of two highly practical guidebooks to the Cayce material: The Edgar Cayce Handbook for Creating Your Future (with Christopher Fazel) and Twelve Positive Habits of Spiritually Centered People (with his daughter, Sarah Thurston).

Dr. Thurston currently serves as a faculty member in transpersonal psychology and Director of Academic Affairs for Atlantic University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. His courses and classes include a training program designed to equip people to serve as spiritual mentors.

In 1998 he was executive producer and on-air host of The New Millennium, a series of twenty-six television programs produced at WHRO, the PBS affiliate for the Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia area. Those shows, which were aired for two years on The Wisdom Channel, focused on the most important topics in the Cayce material.

Dr. Thurston is also the co-founder of the Personal Transformation and Courage Institute, a non-profit educational organization offering intensive courses in life purpose and transformational healing.

Prophecy is an unfolding topic. We cannot understand it otherwise. As soon as we try to set a prophecy "in stone" we have already missed the deeper sense of how a visionary does his work. The seer truly operates at the level Edgar Cayce called the "Creative Forces" - those dynamic energies that are always involved in shaping a future that isn't sure until it manifests. This new book Edgar Cayce's Predictions for the 21st Century includes my unfolding understanding of Cayce's prophetic material. The need for this book became evident to me immediately after the year 2001. But it wasn't just the terrorist tragedies that made me feel it was needed. I recognized that people were starting to look at the Cayce material in a new way. They were confused about whether or not the man's work still warranted belief. Yes, a book about the 21st century, written in the 21st century, would provide a chance to take a fresh look at the man, his prophecies, and his value to our own era.
